New Brand Design


Relaunch of the global Volkswagen design.

In 2019 Volkswagen launched “New Volkswagen”, a holistic brand experience for their communication as well their products. It was launched along their first all-electric range, the ID family. Core of the relaunch was to make the brand more human and digital first. For more than a year I was part of the Powerhouse, which combined experts from Volkswagen with specialists from a number of agencies working for this client. As a group we redefined the brand. At DDB voltage Mahmoud Fathy and I were responsible for redefining the Look & Feel of the Still and Moving Images, doing test shootings and defining new global guidelines.

The powerhouse was a cooperation between our Volkswagen clients and experts from the creative agencies: MetaDesign, KMS, DDB/Voltage, G&P, SinnerSchrader, Sapient Razorfish, Blackspace, Schmidhuber, S12.

voltage Berlin and our clients from the Volkswagen Marketing department were together responsible for the redefinition of Still & Moving Images.
